Statement of Purpose
As parents and members of the community, we are concerned about the quality
of life in our schools and community for children and their families with regard
to issues of tolerance, respect and dignity for all. Our public schools
are in a unique position to offer on-going opportunities for children and
families to learn about other cultures and lifestyles, and to teach
understanding and appreciation of differences in our own community, our nation,
and the world. To this end, this committee strives to:
1. Support the stated goals of the Cobleskill-Richmondville
Central School and provide school personnel with additional resources to support
staff and educate children in diversity issues, anti-bias education and conflict
resolution.
2. Provide volunteers to the Cobleskill-Richmondville
Central School who can assist school personnel to support a peaceful and
respectful environment for all.
3. Facilitate collaboration between Cobleskill-Richmondville
Central School, community agencies and other public school districts in the
region so they can provide educational programs and activities that promote
respect, tolerance and appreciation for diversity and ways to deal with
conflicts around these issues.
