I really enjoyed the pictures of the reunion. It was nice to see so many familiar faces after so many years.
Not sure anyone remembers me, since I was pretty quiet throughout high school. But I do remember many of the people in the pictures.
Now my job takes me to other countries 3 weeks per month so I don't have the free time to attend reunions. I did want to send you a picture of me in the event anyone is looking for me. I have been looking for Scott Garland for the past 36 years. We joined the Marine Corps together along with Reid Arnold. Reid unfortunately was killed shortly after arriving in VN and the only time I saw Scott after boot camp was one evening 5 years later he stopped by my house. Since then, no contact. If anyone knows his whereabouts, please contact me.
Thank you very much for the updates.

Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into making this a really fun and unique weekend. All of us out of state people really appreciate all the time you put into each of these reunions. I have been traveling so much of this year, mostly between our two homes. Since the reunion, I've already gone home to CA to spend some quality time with my dog, Roxy, and am already back here in MAD BCH for a 3 week stay. We have a trade show in Orlando and then I'm headed to Ft. Collins, CO to surprise my granddaughter, Alexis (8), on Halloween at her school parade. When I return to CA Jack and I plan on getting together with Linda and Lance Abair who are now in the LA area. We went to one of Mindi's concerts in Newport and were just as surprised to see them there as they were to see us afterwards. I did get some really great snapshots at the reunion and had planned on sending them to Mary but never had the chance. I will be giving them to Pat sometime this week. If anyone is ever driving down Gulf Blvd. and sees a light on at my old house, please stop by for a visit. I really miss you all!

Our 40th Reunion was a great success! Thank you "Reunion Committee" for all of your hard work, especially pulling it all together at the end. The weather cooperated, we had good food (thanks cooks), great music (thanks Steve), largest attendance in years, and lots and lots of conversation and fun. Thank you all for joining us and helping to make this one of the best reunions ever. We also missed many of our past classmates who were unable to attend this time and we hope we will be able to see them at our next reunion...Like Kathi & Bill said, our "Social Security" reunion.

A quick recap for those who were not there and for those who were....add yours as well.
Friday at Gators started out being a little warm but the showers were all around us and never got us wet. We
expected 81 but at least 100 people were there. People came from California (Betsy Burrows and Pam Van Brunt) North Carolina (Pat Daniels), Vermont (Marsha Ewin) Colorado (Meri Lee Driggers) Deleware (Marilyn Weber) Illinois (Bob White), Georgia (Bill Wallace and Judy Pinkston)and more. The locals turned out as well. The last of the group lasted til 12:00. Saturday was fun at the fish camp. thanks to CC and Linda Rice for providing such a wonderful place to get together. Mr. Stanley Moore was our guest. At 85 he looked great and enjoyed seeing everyone. We had awesome fried grouper from Bob Spaeth with cooks CC Rice and Bob Miller helping with the cooking. Again, we had around 100 people...some different from the night before. Dave Shannon was a great surprise and a big help to the committee. Steve Vaughan provided the music...along with a special appreance of "Elvis". Thanks to Jim and Sue Latto for some great t-shirts. Class of '64, '66 and 67 were there as well.
Be sure to check the photos that will be appearing soon and use this web site to keep in touch. We missed those who couldn't be there and hope to do this again as Bob Miller said "to celebrate getting our social security!!!"

Dear Former Students,
As I mentioned earlier, I would like to put together an article for the St. Petersburg Times dealing with the reations that high school students had who were taking American History when President Kennedy was killed. I am wonder what your parent's reaction was!
So far, I have heard from only three of you. One of you mentioned that you went with your parents to hear the President speak in Tampa, but you did not remember how close that was to his assassination. He spoke in Tampa on Monday before he was killed in Dallas on Friday. I remember making a strange comment to one of my classes on Tuesday when we talked about the fact that President Kennedy had spoken at the baseball stadium in Tampa.
I said that if anyone had wanted to shoot the President, all they had to do was to be seated on one of the front rows at the stadium and when the President came by to shake hands, the person could fire his or her gun.
When the assassination took place on Friday, I thought that someone might think that I must have known something about it since I had made my statement in one of my classes.
If I am going to be able to write an articel for the Times, I really need to receive information from you by Saturday, Sept. 17, so it can be printed in the paper during your reunion. I hope to hear from a number of you.
Thanks,
Coach Drash

Hello Fellow Grads! My name is Dave Shannon (Class of 65.) Me & Ms Gault "Most Humorous". For 27 years I lived in Nashville,TN & worked as an entertainer & owned my own sound reinforcement company.(remember the A/V guys at SHS?) well kind of like that, but on a bit grander scale. Around 1995 I began to see that the places I could perform shows with a traveling troupe were becomming fewer & fewer. Clubs were turning to disc jockeys & pre-recorded music. So I staarted a "hotshot delivery service". Deliveries within a 100 mile radius of Nashville. Things went well for about 4 years. My contract with Emery Air was based on a handshake & performance. I was underbid by a large nationally known delivery service. Since then I have bounced from one thing to another. The last 2 years have been especially difficult. So I find myself at 58, unemployed & staring at the street. My roommate in this small apartment is a great guy and has gone to the wall for me. But he can't carry me! I need a job and a place to live. i need a situation that will allow me to save money for a car. I am thoroughly, completely embarassed to have to relate this to you but my situation is desperate enough to warrant this letter.I have had wonderful times in my life.I have entertained people all over the globe.Always feeling so blessed and privledged to be making my living with my talent. If one of you can help that would be appreciated. if not I understand. We all have endured lifes' slings & arrows. in the final analysis we are all just trying to muddle through & maybe sneak a little happiness along the way.My best to you all, Dave Shannon. P.S. my number is (727) 324-7992 God Bless!

Hope you read my letter dealing with President Kennedy's assassination. I cannot tell you how I hope that some of you will find the letter you wrote to yourself and will send me a copy of it. I don't think I have ever wanted to receive something more in my life than to know how teenage students felt about such an historical event.
Even if you can't find your letter, I would like to know if that assignment had any influence on you. Thanks for anything you can send me.

Dear Seminole High School Class of 1965,
I received the information about your reunion in the mail earlier this week. It sounds like it should be a fun time. However, I am sorry that I will not be able to attend because of two earlier commitments, one being in charge of a major church activity and the other attending our grandson’s second birthday celebration.
My wife and I attended the reunion of the class of 1964 last year and had a great time at that event. We were also in St. Petersburg recently. I was the best man in the wedding of Gary Tuhro! Can you believe that? He and I have kept up for 43 years!
Your class had approximately 320 students. I taught five American History classes. Each class had a minimum of 30 students and a maximum of 35. The reason I am writing you at this time is to see if any of you who were in one of my American History classes can help me.
I’m sure that all of you remember President Kennedy’s assassination. For those students who were in my American History classes, I did something rather unique after students returned to school after his funeral. The assignment that I made when you were ready to leave my class on that first day back after the funeral was to bring a self-addressed stamped envelope to class for the next day. I did not tell you why I was giving you such an unusual assignment. I’m sure you remember when you came to class the next day with your envelope, I gave you the full time of the class to write yourself a letter dealing with the assassination and your reaction, etc. When the class was over, you sealed your envelope and put it in a cardboard box. One year later, I put all of your letters in the mail so you would receive them by November 22, 1964.
As all of you know, I moved back to Memphis in the summer of 1964 to work in their Admissions Office. Therefore, after I mailed your letters to you, I never had the opportunity to talk with you to see your reaction. That assignment was the most unusual one that I ever gave to any of my classes through the years. I have always wondered what your reactions were when you reread your letters. I have also wondered if any of you still have your letter “buried” somewhere. When we were there at Seminole for the 1964 reunion, I contacted the St. Petersburg Times about what I had you do dealing with writing yourself your letter. They wanted to do a story dealing with it, but it was too close to the reunion date to contact you and they also felt it would be better to wait until you had your reunion this year.

Dear Towvarisches:
Received your note today! I read it and checked m y calendar and I must
you inform you that I will be in Siberia (whoops meant to say
Wisconsin) that weekend! We are going to visit my sister and her
family, see the leaves turn colors, and cheer on my Packers at Lambeau
Field!
This will be the first time that I have seen a Packer game in Lambeau!
I saw many games in other stadiums in Wisconsin but the first one in the
new Lambeau!
Please extend my sincere thanks for inviting me to your reunion! I
have some very fond memories of your class and the wonderful items made
for my class. I still have most of them. I gave the school the flags,
the map of the Soviet Union which Janice Jessee painted and I forget who
made the repubics that came off the map to show the tunrdra, taiga,
steppe, and desert! The big paper machie bear was left at the school
and I think it went to bear heaven!
Please let everyone know that I wish everyone the very best and that I
was and am proud of what you have done for the high school and for our
country! I hope to see you all at the next reunion! I proabaly will
see some of you at the malls or at a restaurant!
Again - my thanks and remember to live the highest that you know! GO
WARHAWKS!

WOW! I loved the pictures. Some people have not changed at all! Well, a little older perhaps. But Boy, its been a while and as hard as I tried, i couldn't figure out who was who. Of course, Janice, Pat, Hal, Kathi & Dan don't look any different. I'd love to know your secret. Mary this web-site is so awesome. Most of us have great memories of our years at Seminole and this is such a great way to get caught up and to keep in touch. Again, thanks so much for all the hard work.

I did receive the invitation through the mail-you do have my correct address. As much as I would like to attend-unfortunately I have prior business commitments-I have worked for Ethan Allen Inc. for the past 24 years in the Product Development area. I have been enjoying the change of seasons here in the northeast-but there are times when I wish I was back in Seminole (like when you have to shovel snow!!) My very best to all of my friends-we are not getting older just better!! hope to make the 50th!!!!

There are probably not a lot of people who remember me as I transferred to Seminole for my Senior year. It was quite a change for a kid who grew up in the back woods of New Hampshire to go from a class of about 25 to one of over 300. I did make many friends at Seminole and will always cherish the memories of my senior year. I would really like to get in touch with Sue Hoffman Foster so if anyone has her email address, please pass this on to her. If anyone remembers me, I'd love to hear from you!

I think it is great what everyone is doing to make this reunion a success. I am sorry I will not be able to be there since I will be in China at the time of the event. I read about Hal travelling a lot and I remember him from school. Sounds like we have similar work, although my job takes me out of the country 3 weeks per month.
I hope everyone that can be at the reunion has a great time and I will be thinking about all of you, even though I will be there in spirit only.

HI all. Pam, I have pictures of your kids and mine registering people at the 25th reunion. They are all grown up. Kelly is now 31 and has a daughter, Payton with a son on the way (Oct. 12ish). She and her husband live near us and being with Payton is the best!! Erin is 28 and hung out with your daughter for the reunion weekend. She and her husband, Matt live in Virginia Beach. They have a son 19 months. We miss them so much. I retired a year ago after teaching for 34 years!!! Enjoying spending time with grandkids and my mother who is living nearby. Dan and I will be celebrating 36 years next week. He retired from Customs and is now working for TEch Data Corp. He travels some so now that I have retired I can go with him at times.

Pat, it has been a long time! When i saw the ages of your children, I realized that I am headed for social security. It just doesn't seem like it has been so many years. We have 3 children, Chris 33, teaches 2nd grade and has 2 boys, 3 & 9mos. Kelli 27, has a teaching degree, but can't teach because they spend 6 mos in Philly and 6 mos here. She has a boy 2, a girl 4 and one on the way. Her husband plays for the Phildelphia Eagles(we finally made it to the Super Bowl). Lindsey is 25, single, and just passed her state boards. I never in a million years thought i would feel the way I do about my grandchildren. When the kids leave for Philly I feel like someone has stolen my own children. Its terible, especially with madison because I was right there the day she arrived.
I would love to hear from you guys!

I am married to Hal Robbins and we will celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary this October. We have three children, Rob 37, Debbie 35 and Shelly 33 all of whom graduated from SHS,too, and two incredible grandchildren Kaitlyn 9 and Jacob 10. Our children and grandchildren are the love of our lives and we look forward to visiting them frequently as they both live out of state. We recently moved back to Seminole from Tallahassee, where we lived for 8 years. I worked as a registrar in a middle school. Since moving back to Seminole I have busy remodeling our home and taking care of my mother and sister. Hal's new job requires extensive travel, so I have had the opportunity to travel with him to such places like Alaska, St. Croix, California, and many other interesting places.

Great Website! Thanks! I sure hope you keep this going. It's a great way for us who are so far away to keep up on whats happening and what our classmates are doing.
Wish I could be there, but my daughter Kelli is due to have her 3rd baby at that time. She trouble with the last 2 and now has some blood thing that has to be checked weekly. Plus they go back to Philly around the same time because her husband plays for the Eagles. It goes without saying that is where I will be. But one of these days I will make it down! Again, great job on the website
